✅ OPTION 1 (RECOMMENDED): We buy you a new Business number
This is the best and most reliable setup for most businesses. We create a new Crevo business number that appears on your website, Google Business Profile, and marketing materials. All calls to this number are automatically forwarded to your existing mobile, so you can continue answering calls as normal.
Every call is tracked, recorded, and linked to your automation system. If you miss a call, the system instantly sends a personalised text back to the customer and logs the conversation in your inbox. It also triggers review requests, AI follow-ups, and other workflows so you never lose a lead.
Using a dedicated Crevo business number keeps your personal mobile private and ensures your data remains accurate. Customer calls and texts only go through your Crevo number, so your personal phone stays free of business messages while your reporting and automations stay clean.
Pros
• No disruption to your current mobile number
• No downtime or carrier delays
• Full automation for all website and marketing leads
• Clean separation of business messages and personal messages
• Easiest and fastest setup
• Ideal for tradies using one mobile for both personal + business
Cons
• Only calls routed through the Crevo number trigger automations
• Old customers calling your original number won’t trigger automation unless they switch to using your new number
⚙️OPTION 2 (BACKUP): Keep your existing number by porting it into Crevo
-> This option is ONLY for businesses who use ONE mobile number for both personal and business.
If you have had the same number for years and want to keep it, we can transfer or port it into the Crevo system. Porting usually takes between two and four weeks in Australia depending on your carrier (Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, Aussie Broadband). You will need to provide a recent bill and an authorisation form to verify ownership.
Your number continues to work during the porting process, so there is no downtime. Once the transfer is complete, your number is fully hosted inside the Crevo system and gains the same automation benefits as Option 1. You will still answer calls on your normal mobile or office phone.
During the porting process, features like missed-call text-back and automation triggers may not function reliably. For this reason, we often recommend starting with a new Crevo business number first and porting your old number later once you are ready to make it your permanent automated line.
Pros
• You keep your original number (good if it’s printed everywhere)
• Full automation on every call once the port is complete
• Clean tracking and reporting
• No SIM swap required unless you want to
Cons
• Porting takes 2–4 weeks with possible carrier delays
• Automations may not work consistently during the porting window
• Requires paperwork and identity verification
• If this number is also your personal mobile, automation will trigger for personal calls
• You may need a new personal number if you currently use one mobile for both personal + business
⚠️ OPTION 3 (NOT RECOMMENDED): Connect an existing dedicated business line
If you already use a separate business phone in addition to your personal mobile, we can integrate your existing business line with the Crevo system. We can either forward that number into the platform or port it completely.
Once connected, every business call will be tracked, recorded, and linked to your automations, including missed-call text-back, AI follow-ups, and review requests.
If your business number is with Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, or another Australian provider, porting typically takes two to four weeks. Your number will continue to work throughout the process, and once the transfer is complete, you will have full automation and reporting features without changing how you answer calls.
Pros
• Ideal if you already have a business-only phone
• Full automation on all business calls
• Complete separation of personal and business communication
• Cleanest reporting setup
Cons
• Only suitable if you already have a business-only number
• Must manage two phones
• Porting delays still apply if you choose to port
• Not useful for tradies using one phone for everything
